Tiny House – Minimalistic Living

by Josh Champagne on February 7, 2012

In my travels through the interweb (not a word according to my spell check), I came across this video of a complete house owned by Logan & Tammy. It totals 130 Square feet. And just when I thought my 800+ square foot home was on the small side. :)

LOL! I've been doing research about this over the last couple of weeks… living in small spaces and somewhat minimalistic (not 100% minimalist because I often find it cold and with little evidence that people live in it. I, on the other hand, love texture, gorgeous fabrics and delicately-made things, not just anything, but utility things like lamps). And I saw plenty of videos on tiny houses, including this one. Our apartment is about 571 sq ft. (counting closet space!) so space is a premium here!! But I like it pretty simply, though. I don't like stuff in front of windows and blocking corners. Nothing on counter-tops and tables kind of thing, unless is something we're using at the moment. Things have to multi-task, but yet look pretty and clean, and like they belong there. I'm doing MAJOR, MAJOR de-owning (aka de-cluttering) of stuff here. The biggest one we've ever done. I'm talking about book shelves and media cabinets with TV and radio "be gone" from here. It's pretty exciting I have to say. I go after my dad, he and I LOVE de-cluttering.

Now as for us living in a tiny house. Not impossible, but the kitchen… uhhhhmmmm, we love cooking together, so the stove has got to be GOOD and large, and have a blasting oven! Wouldn't mind a wood cooking stove though!

I have always said home is where the heart is. You don’t need a lot of space or stuff to be happy. I think it is really cool what this couple has done.

Cozy and cute!, love it! I also like traditional Korean or Japanese houses. :)
